Everything you wanted to know about pricing

Clear answers on balance, billing, upgrades, and what happens when you run out.

How representative is the data? What's the accuracy?
Our pattern-matching algorithm runs at 86–95% accuracy depending on the pattern type and sample size. Concrete patterns — pain points, explicit objections, product mentions — sit at the top of that range. Subtler patterns like narrative structures and emotional tones land a few points lower. Accuracy also improves with sample size: a run over 5,000 mentions is measurably more representative than one over 500. Every pattern is backed by sampled mentions you can click through, so the evidence is always auditable.
What does an action cost?
One credit has a USD redemption value of $0.02 on Starter, $0.015 on Pro, and $0.007 on Business. Credits derive from actual plan value at that rate, not a fixed advertised monthly allocation. Collection costs one credit per mention; audience-profile collection costs three per profile; custom-parameter and pattern processing costs half a credit per post; public research previews cost one per source. Separate legacy tracking dispatch costs 15 credits, report generation 300, and audience-insights generation 600 — these are not extra fees on every modern mention or profile collection. Assistant turns and MCP natural-language queries also consume separately charged token-based inference. Read your account's live prices in the app or API pricing docs.
What happens when I run out of balance?
Agents remain configured and existing dashboards remain available, but new paid collection, processing and AI work require available balance. Choose credits to top up in the app; the exact USD cash charge is shown before checkout, with a $5 minimum. The server-confirmed account rate determines the purchased credits. An Unlimited capacity label does not permit unbounded billable work or bypass configured usage limits.
Does unused balance roll over?
No — subscription credits reset each billing period. We size each refill from the plan's cash value and credit price for sustained use rather than stockpiling. If you consistently leave a big buffer, you're probably on the wrong plan and we'll happily help you downsize.
What's the difference between monthly and yearly?
The new plans are currently sold monthly. Existing annual customers keep their discounted annual price, monthly purchasing power, and credit rate for the remainder of their offering.
Can I upgrade, downgrade, or change plans mid-cycle?
Yes. After successful payment, an upgrade starts a new billing period and grants its full value; it charges the full new-period price without unused-time credit or proration. Existing spends are not erased. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at period end without a refund. The app's server-owned quote shows the direction, effective date and cash terms before you confirm. Retained top-up USD value is expressed at the new account credit rate; captured historical receipts keep their original rate.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — the app shows the available trial credits and access period before you start. Trial data work uses the same action prices, and AI inference is charged against available trial value. Check the current in-app terms rather than assuming a fixed paid-plan credit allocation.
Which sources can I actually listen to?
All paid plans include Reddit, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram. Enterprise customers can add private channels — review sites, forums, Discord servers, customer call transcripts, and more — via our data ingestion team.
What's the difference between Pro and Business?
Pro includes the owner plus one invited teammate, three projects and three listening agents. Business includes the owner plus five invited teammates, unlimited project and listening-agent capacity, and API access. Both reach 1,000 mentions per research and include audience research and CSV export. Starter reaches 300 and includes MCP, custom dates and multiple sources, but not audience research, CSV export or API access. Paid work on every plan still requires available balance. Pro V2 and V3 both include one invited teammate; existing over-cap teammates stay, but further invitations are blocked.
Do you offer a non-profit or academic discount?
Yes — 30% off any paid plan for verified non-profits and academic institutions. Write to us at hello@buzzabout with your institution email and we'll get you set up.
What's included in Enterprise?
Everything in Business plus custom sources, custom listening agents, a dedicated customer success manager, SSO / SCIM, a security review pack (SOC 2 report, DPA, sub-processor list), custom contract terms, and invoicing in your preferred currency.
Is my data private & secure?
Yes. Your projects, lists, and custom agents are never used to train our models or shared across workspaces. We're SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant, with data stored in EU or US regions at your choice.
What kind of support do I get?
Email support within one business day on every plan, and a dedicated CSM + Slack channel on Enterprise. Our support team is staffed by people who've actually done this work, not a generic help desk.
